ER Series (Double-Ended Fish-Eye Articulated Type)

ER Series (Double-Ended Fish-Eye Articulated Type)

ER Series Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensors with Double-Ended Rod End JointsThe ER series magnetostrictive displacement sensors with double-ended rod end joints are high-precision displacement detection devices based on the magnetostrictive principle. Featuring a double-ended rod end hinged mounting structure, they meet the flexible installation requirements of various mechanical motion applications. The installation is convenient, effectively compensates for installation deviations, absorbs motion shocks, and ensures stable detection and good equipment compatibility.

The product has an IP65 protection rating, providing resistance to dust ingress and low-pressure water spray. It adapts to complex industrial environments with high dust and slight humidity, improving environmental adaptability.

It supports a wide range of output signals, including standard analog signals (4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0–10 V) and RS485 digital signals. It can be seamlessly connected to PLCs, digital displays, industrial PCs, and other equipment to meet the signal acquisition needs of different industrial control systems.

These sensors are widely used for precise displacement measurement and closed-loop position control in hydraulic machinery, engineering machinery, metallurgical equipment, automated production lines, and other fields.

 Installation Method

 () Both-end Fish-eye Fixed Articulated Installation

1.Connect the fish-eye bearings at both ends of the sensor to the articulated supports on the moving and static parts of the equipment with pin shafts respectively. The pin shafts shall pass through the central holes of the fish-eye bearings to ensure firm and loose-free connection.Install circlips or nuts at both ends of the pin shafts to prevent disengagement.

2.After installation, adjust the sensor attitude so that the sensor axis is parallel to the movement axis of the measured moving part of the equipment. The fish-eye joints shall rotate freely without jamming or rigid pulling.

3.Confirm that during full-stroke movement of the equipment, the sensor extension rod has no bending and no extra radial force, and there is no obvious shaking at the articulated points at both ends.

() Fixed Installation with Matching Mounting Bracket

1.First fix the sensor body to the matching mounting bracket with fastening bolts. The bolt tightening torque shall meet the requirements marked on the bracket (recommended: 8–12 N·m).Ensure the sensor body fits tightly to the bracket without looseness.

2.Mount the assembled bracket on the flat mounting surface of the static part of the equipment. The mounting surface of the bracket shall be ground and clean, free of burrs and oil contamination.Install flat washers and spring washers on the fixing bolts to prevent loosening caused by equipment vibration.

3.Connect the fish-eye bearing at the extension rod end of the sensor to the pin shaft of the articulated support on the moving part of the equipment. The requirements are the same as those for Both-end Fish-eye Fixed Articulated Installation.Ensure the extension rod moves flexibly with the equipment without jamming.

Notes

1.The installation environment shall be kept away from strong magnetic fields and strong electromagnetic interference sources (such as inverters and high-power motors). If unavoidable, shield the sensor signal cables and route them separately from power cables (spacing ≥ 20 cm).

2. Do not install the sensor in direct radiation from high-temperature heat sources. If the ambient temperature exceeds the rated range of the product, an insulation and protection device must be installed.

3.Perform wiring only after installation is complete. Before wiring, confirm that the equipment power supply matches the sensor’s rated voltage. Reverse polarity and over-voltage power supply are strictly prohibited.

4. 4–20 mA / 0–5 V / 0–10 V analog signals and RS485 digital signals shall be connected according to the product wiring diagram. The shielded cable shall be singleend grounded (grounding at the IPC/PLC side is recommended) to reduce signal interference.

5. After wiring, carry out no-load commissioning. Start the equipment to run the measured component through full stroke, and check whether the sensor output signal is continuous without jumping. Only put into normal use after confirming no abnormalities.
