Pull rope displacement sensor is also called pull rope sensor, pull rope sensor, pull rope electronic ruler, and pull rope encoder. The pull rope displacement sensor is an exquisite composition of the linear displacement sensor in structure. It fully combines the advantages of the angle sensor and the linear displacement sensor and becomes a sensor with small installation size, compact structure, large measurement stroke and high precision. The stroke ranges from several hundred millimeters to more than ten meters. The pull rope displacement sensor is a key component for measuring or controlling positions. It realizes measurement and control functions in multiple fields such as mechanical equipment, chemical equipment, electrolytic aluminum equipment, river embankment measurement, and industrial production lines. The pull rope displacement sensor is also known as pull rope encoder. Generally, the one with potentiometer elements inside is called pull rope displacement sensor. The one with encoder inside is called pull rope encoder. When choosing this product, it is necessary to select the product according to the on-site installation conditions and usage environment to match a suitable sensor that meets the precision requirements.

1. Selection according to actual measurement distance

Select the stroke of the pull rope displacement sensor according to the measurement distance. This should be judged according to the length of the position that needs to be measured by the on-site equipment. When selecting the sensor range, it is recommended to leave a margin. (The sensor range is one specification larger than the actual usage stroke.) Do not use it beyond the stroke. Secondly, it is necessary to determine the signal mode and combine it with the on-site equipment control part. If it is not certain, it can be communicated with the control software engineer. Because there are quite a lot of similar products for measuring displacement, and the principles are also diverse. When choosing sensor manufacturers with different principles, the following need to be determined: the size of the range, and what are the requirements for the size of the moving part of the measured object on the main body of the displacement sensor.

2. Selection of sensitivity of pull rope sensor

In terms of sensitivity selection, the linearity of the sensor determines the level of sensitivity, but it is not that the higher the sensitivity, the better. This requires full combination with the output signal corresponding to the measured object. Only when it is beneficial to signal processing is it the best choice. Because the sensitivity of the pull rope encoder is directional. When the output only requires AB phases or the result is not high, products with low sensitivity should be selected.

3. Response frequency

The resolution of the pull rope sensor determines the frequency range of the moving object. This condition must be mastered within the measured physical range. In the actual measurement process, the response signal of the displacement sensor will be slightly delayed, but after being processed by a fourfold frequency amplifier, this result can be ignored.

4. Linear range

The linear range of the pull rope sensor refers to the range where the output is proportional to the input. Theoretically, within this range, the sensitivity is a constant value. The wider the linear range of the pull rope encoder, the higher its precision. When choosing a pull rope encoder, first see if it can meet its measurement requirements. In the actual measurement process, no type of product can guarantee that it is absolutely linear.

5. Service life

In terms of service life, due to its special mechanical structure, the service life of the pull rope displacement sensor is generally between 5 million and 10 million times. However, the working efficiency and environmental impact can also shorten the life of the pull rope displacement sensor. For example, working in high magnetic field, high pollution, high and low temperature and other environments will cause the life of the pull rope sensor to be shortened.

Precautions for use and installation:

1. Use the four fixing screw holes at the bottom to install directly according to the needs of the on-site and machine installation space facilities, or add protection or other mechanical uses.

2. When installing the stainless steel cable, pay attention to the horizontal angle, that is, try to make the cable slide horizontally from the outlet to the mechanism of the moving part during work, and maintain the smallest angle (allowable deviation ±5°) to ensure measurement accuracy and cable life.

3. The cable body is covered with a layer of nylon. Do not let it be cut, burned, impacted or other improper things by external forces; Excessive powder dust, accumulated chips or things that can damage the cable staying on the pulley or outlet inside will cause the cable to be damaged, resulting in poor operation and failure.

4. Before installing on the workbench or fixed seat, do not pull out the cable by hand or other products and let it spring back instantly by itself. This will cause the cable to break and damage the main structure and personal safety.

5. For MPL series: The instantaneous acceleration of reciprocating motion must not exceed 3 meters/second. If the cable is broken or personal injury is caused by this action, our company will not be responsible.

6. If it is used in a mechanism other than linear motion, please install appropriate pulleys for operation.

7. If it is used in harsh environments or special occasions, please install protective devices by yourself or discuss with our engineering department or dealers. Otherwise, if the product is damaged due to this, our company will not be responsible.
